Reliability and safety are key elements in all operations of Parka Lausna ehf, hereafter referred to as Parka. Because of this, the company strives to ensure, in a variety of ways, confidentiality, reliability and the safe and responsible handling of information. Furthermore, Parka strives to inform users about security issues and how their information is processed so that no one has to doubt that information is processed in a safe and legal manner.
1
Data security and access control
All transfers between the company's different systems are encrypted. Parka's basic system is an access-controlled system. Personally identifiable information is inaccessible to general users of the system.
Information about individual users is only accessible to Parka staff and only retrieved as needed, such as when a user does not pay a service fee within the stated payment deadline, when a customer contacts and requests further explanations, etc. All Parka employees have a clean criminal record and are bound by a duty of confidentiality about everything they may learn about the users of the system. Parka reserves the right to report any breach of confidentiality to the appropriate authorities.
The information security manager supervises the system and has an overview of employee access to user data. He must, among other things, supervise employees and their access to data.
2
Personal identifiable information at an absolute minimum
Parka's policy is to store and work with as little personally identifiable information as possible in order to provide services and fulfill obligations. When using the system, general users only need to provide their vehicle's registration number, without having to provide their name, social security number, address or other personal information. However, companies, such as car rental companies and bus companies, are invited to register in the system for convenience and for the purpose of facilitating the management and settlement of service fees for the companies. When registering, Parka requests the name, address, social security number, email address, and phone number of the legal entity / company.
Parka has access to payment history, i.e. transaction information but not bank account numbers or payment card numbers.
The Parka system only retrieves information about the owners of the vehicle in question, if the service fee is not paid within a predetermined deadline. Subsequently, a claim will be established against the respective owner in the bank's collection system, based on the identification number of the owner of the respective vehicle. If the service fee is paid within the deadline, no information is retrieved from the vehicle register.
Parka operates in all respects in accordance with Icelandic laws on personal protection and handling of personal information. Parka makes sure that its customers, who are considered responsible parties within the meaning of the Act on Personal Protection, have notified the Personal Protection Agency of their activities as required by the Act on Personal Protection and Handling of Personal Information. Parka is considered a processor within the meaning of the Act on Personal Protection and Handling of Personal Information.
3
Parka guarantees not to use information about users in an irresponsible, unsafe, or immoral way
Under no circumstances will Parka provide, sell or rent users' personal or financial information (transactions) to third parties.
Parka will never share user contact information with third parties. Parka itself will never use communication information for any other purpose than to have moderate and normal communication with users for their access and use of Parka.
Despite the above, Parka reserves the right to prepare non-personally identifiable statistical summaries and other derived information, which without any doubt are not personally identifiable, traceable or attributable to users, and use them for commercial purposes, as follows:
Due to research on traffic congestion / number of vehicles in certain areas. Its purpose is, among other things, for Parka to be able to inform customers and future customers about the system, its usage options, load tolerance and the results of using the system, such as what percentage of the number of vehicles the system can process, if Parka does not consider it to be against the interests of users.
Analysis of the use of the Parka smart application between different toll zones.
Analysis of trips (e. location data) of taxi drivers with the Parka Taxi smart program to connect passengers and drivers in the vicinity of each other and measure trips.
Despite the above, Parka also reserves the right to hand over user information to third parties if:
Parka should do it according to the law.
If the police request information in the case of an accident or an alleged criminal act.
Parka is acquired or merged with another company but only in accordance with the provisions of this information security policy (so that the new company continues to operate similar services on the same terms).
In cases where Parka is not the operator of a paid area, Parka sends information about payments to the operator of the area. This is the car number, timing of payment and part of the card number for transaction traceability and for comparison with regional events.
Parka's user terms and information security policy will always be available on the parka.is website.
Parka reserves the right to change this information security policy as needed and without special notice.
